Are you Coachable? Really?

by on March 30, 2010

If ‘Coachable’ means that your ACTIONS can be guided to be more and more successful ~ does Not taking Action make you UnCoachable?

This was the uncomfortable question I posed myself today. I’d love to know what you think and how You’d answer that question…Information Overload?

I couldn’t agree more. People tend to keep on buying stuff that they believe would help them, but in reality, all they have to do is START doing something. Unless they’ve decided to move forward and take action, no amount of self-help stuff, not even coaches, can help them. It’s a matter of choice, and choosing to do it NOW.

And goddess Cherrie, “choosing to do it now” is what separates winners from whiners. I appreciate you!

What a GREAT question!
Just because we listen to coaching doesn’t mean that we are coachable. Even if we only take a small amount of action, I think that would qualify as ‘uncoachable’. My thought is that to be truly coachable, we must follow our coach and take action on all of their teachings. If we just listen and do the things that we want to do, we are just coaching ourselves. Just as an athlete grows by following the strict guidelines of his coach no matter how difficult or uncomfortable, we too will grow the same way.

Thanks for some great food for though Jackie!

Danielle, you’ve hit it right on the head. We have to take action on ALL of their teachings, not just the ones we like LOL!

There does come a time when you have to take action. I do not care for the feelings I have when I’m nervous about trying something new & possibly making a mistake. I am learning to overcome this and just step into it. Mistakes are learning tools, nothing more or less. I am working on impressing that into my mindset!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Goddess Jacqui,
Val 🙂

We do so much to avoid discomfort and those horrid feelings when we think we make a mistake, that it can paralyze us into inaction. But you’re so right, goddess Val, mistakes are learning tools and being aware of that is the first step to victory!

Can so identify with you in both information overload, making endless lists, and signing up for programs and not making a full commitment to thoroughly utilize them. The spreadsheet is a great idea. I’ll start using one myself. Thanks for the suggestion!

Taking ACTION is definitely part of being coachable but having the correct mindset and attitude is a big part of it too…in my opinion.

Oh without a doubt, Eddie, mindset and attitude are Essential, and that’s precisely why I gave up on my 6th mlm to focus on the inner work that needed to be done.
And that has led to the realization that while the inner work has cleared some barriers and raised my awareness of what I really want to do with my life, None of this matters unless I take Action on my dreams.
So glad to meet you! Heading over to your blog to get to know you better!
Bliss and blessings,
The goddess known as Jacqui

Hi QUEEN goddess Jacqui!

Great post! Thanks for sharing these insights. It is time to get it going on… and we don’t have to get it right. We have all that we need to get started and moving. This was a great reminder to clear out the clutter in my life and just start making it happen.

Make it a great day!

Aloha Jacqueline,
I loved your video on “Are You Coachable, Really?”! We all have been there, not putting into action what we just learned. Thank you for being so transparent and holding yourself accountable. You are very inspiring!
Much love & gratitude,
Kellie 🙂
