Attending Events is Ever So Important ~ ‘Specially When You Work From Home.

by on November 24, 2010

Aren't we Scrumptious?

When you work from home (which is by it’s very nature a somewhat solitary occupation), attending events becomes rather important, if only to keep you out of that ivory tower.

Dahlings, no man is an island, as they say, and that truly goes for goddesses too.

So, dear hearts, as you can probably tell, I’m wildly excited about all the luscious new things I have to share with you, so you’ll need to opt-in so I can send you the scrumptious tidbits as they emerge from my notes.

And don’t forget to let me know if you’re in the Atlanta area so that you can have your name inscribed on my Ever So Special list to be invited to the Goddess Gathering in January.

Remember what I told you about the importance of attending events!

Bliss-ings,
the goddess known as Jacqui

Aloha Goddess Jacqui,

Oh, I just love how you so comfortably communicate on video. I feel like you are talking to me, like it’s just an intimate cozy conversation between you and me. Such a gift you have! 🙂

I totally agree with you on attending events. It’s easy to stay at home with a home based business, however, the synergy and energy at “live” events are un-matchable! Also, you feel so connected to the whole team.

Thank you for sharing! I look forward to your future posts which I am sure you will share more insights as your journey continues.

Much aloha,
Kellie 🙂

Yes, you HAVE to get out of the house and talk to people if you work from home. It’s what keeps you sane, and anyway it becomes your primary source for making new friends and networking.

Agreed! I just joined Toastmasters for that very reason.

I don’t actually know a lot about them. Are you liking it so far?

By the way, do you do holiday events?

Yup, all the regular stuff and now that we’re in the States, we celebrate Thanksgiving too. Although I have to admit that now that my kids are grown, we don’t do Halloween anymore. Now we hide inside, watch football and eat the candy ourselves hehehe

I bet your site does well at this time of year, Sophia.

This is something I can absolutely relate with. I have been working at home for four years now and the lack of social interaction can be debilitating sometimes. I need people! I wish I could have more events to attend but that’s just not the case in my small city so I comfort myself with frequent trips to the mall to see real people 🙂

It can be tough, can’t it? And I can absolutely relate to mall trips to get one’s “people-fix”. I’ve just joined Toastmasters, both to sharpen my speaking skills but also just for the fun of talking to real live, in-the-same-room-as-you people!

Save up those airline miles, Grace dear, and come join us for the next Goddess Gathering!

So so agree with you Jaqui – and it’s been forever since I’ve been to a live event. Kids are finally big enough that I think this year I can probably slip away – hopefully to more than one 🙂

Nice video!

Appreciate you,
Andrea

Hi Jacqueline,
I agreed with your point of view. Those who work from home if don’t attend events then after a time they found themselves recluse and it affect their personal development therefore to remain sane it is essential for those who work from home should attend social events.
