I found this wonderful quote on a scrumptious blog that I like to drown in when I’m feeling …. well, ordinary!
“My darling girl, when are you going to understand that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage.”
Practical Magic
and so I look around at the vignettes of my life, and I notice:
I have a fish in a blender on my kitchen counter;

My Buddha wears a crown, and bling;
I have a landscape in my fireplace to keep out the dr aft;

and I have had way more than my allotted 15 minutes of fame.
And I realize that I, like so many others
who shelter under the cloak of suburban normality,
am so very, very far from ordinary.

That’s awesome! I do lots of stuff like that, including collages to put imagery, suggestions together in visible places
It’s amazing how a little bit of creativity can propel you out of ordinariness! And Divinity Rose, this goddess Adores your name!
I love this! In our house we tell each other, “You’re Weird!” and that’s a big compliment! My kids have all done a lot of theatre, even my son, who is also a football player and snowboader! He’s had to leave football practice to go to rehearsal! We’ve also home schooled, attended a preschool where the kids could climb trees, write on the walls and create their own plans. Being weird, means being willing to express yourself and not worry about what other people think….So I guess we’re not normal either….HURRAH!

Yes, goddess Nancy, being “weird” is soooo much better than being ordinary!
Amazing. I’m pretty unique myself. My favorite actress is Zooey Deschanel and I am collecting everything that I can. People think I’m weird but I am just being me.
