Build A Fortress Round Your Family, While The World Goes Nuts

by on August 15, 2011

Unless you’ve been living on a rock, or on the moon, you’ve no doubt realized that our global checkbook is empty and the karmic bill-collectors are camped on our door, demanding that we face up and pay up.

Even though I haven’t watched the news since 9/11 (and honey, turning off my tv has been the best investment in my prosperity and happiness I’ve ever made!), I’ve still been aware of the unsettling developments here in the US and their repercussions around the world.

And it’s oh so easy to allow that feeling of uncertainty, insecurity and lack to pervade our own mindset, isn’t it?

But sweetheart, if you let that happen, you’re doomed to perpetuate more of the same!

So let’s be pro-active, shall we? Let’s start building a Family Fortress before the proverbial stuff hits the fan.

Here’s a few things you can do NOW with what you already have :

And in this two-pronged approach, let’s look at increasing income too :

And a special section for you business goddesses ~

And if you’re ready to really take advantage of the coming uncertainties;

Finally, dear hearts, a few wise words …

“Fortunately, happiness is something
that depends not on position
but on disposition,
and life is what you make it.”-
Gill Robb Wilson

I love this video m’dear! You are such a fabulous encourager of ALL things good!!

I am not a news watcher either, and truthfully, I don’t notice much other than what is happening straight in front of me, and what I put into my own mind! There are awful things happening everywhere, and like I said in my blog post today, circumstances happen to everyone, it’s how we react to those circumstances! You are giving such great advice on how to react though, very practical, and I thank you for that!! 🙂

Hi Jacqueline, I’ve just discovered you and love what you offer so I will be tuning in on a regular basis. Thanks for both the wisdom on the video and the great resources you have given. Two of my biggest take aways from your article is is “I’m open to new opportunities to make more money” and focusing on the positive. I really need to cement these into my being because it is too easy to slip into negativity.

Hi Jacqueline,

Super actionable tips.

I’ve gone cold turkey on the news for about 6 years myself. I don’t miss the heartache, jealousy and anger watching the news generate in my being.

What we put into our minds is how we live our lives. Is the news good eats? Nope, mental junkfood.

Thanks for sharing.

You get what you think about most of the time! Yes, so true!! I am not a news watcher, however since I installed a certain toolbar on my computer, I certainly see more headlines that I wouldn’t otherwise pay any attention too!! I do use a lot of what you have mentioned here Goddess, and I will incorporate a couple of others that you have suggested. Thank you!
Fabulous post!!

My pleasure, Holly. And you’re right about that toolbar! I find it SUCH a distraction but there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn if off without losing all the other good stuff I need *sigh*

OF COURSE I was talking about you, Shelly!! lol

Your steadfast attention to only following your intuition and how you feel has been hugely influential and inspirational in my own journey, and for that I’m ever so grateful.

*hugs*

I hate the news and haven’t watched it in a very long time, but you’re right, we do always get pulled in. And I agree with you that what you focus on, you get more of. And the news can be so negative. Thank you for the great advice! ~ Suerae

Suerae, the news is sooooo hyped these days, you really can’t tell the truth from the hype.
I always figure that if it’s super important, I’ll hear about it anyway!

Gosh I love your videos Goddess!

You are such a natural! I loved your advice too. Whatever we focus on does expand and also with great change comes great opportunity!! It’s such an exciting time to be alive!

I love how you encourage your readers to find what their passions are and then go with them! That’s exactly how to find one’s niche and then master it.

You are truly blossoming and I feel very honored that I have been on this journey with you to see how much you are truly BEcoming “The Goddess”. 🙂

Much love,
Kellie 🙂

Hey Jacqui…you aren’t kidding about “not watching TV” being the best investment ever. I must admit I still watch some TV but I refuse to watch the news. Every once in a while my wife sneaks it in while we’re watching something but I advise her to shut it off asap because man is it depressing. As such, I love your introduction about how turning the TV off has been a great investment for you. At least now I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. I can tell my kids there’s others like me too!

When I grew up in South Africa, we didn’t HAVE TV, and it was severely limited even when my kids arrived. So when we moved to the States, my kids very rapidly got addicted to morning tv, and tv while eating, etc, etc. It happened so slowly that I didn’t really notice … but when I did, I was horrified.

When I began turning it off for long lengths of time, my kids complained initially, but very soon found something else to do, and now neither of them watch more than a couple of shows a week.

As for the news … it’s banned in our house!

You’re not alone, Mik!
