Finding Your Niche Isn’t That Hard Either!

by on March 9, 2011

The question of Finding Your Niche always seems to follow any kind of discussion on Finding Your Passion.

Some people tend to lump the two together, but while they are very closely intertwined, finding your niche is a lot more specific and specialized than just a generalized passion.

For example, you may be passionate about knitting, but the niche you choose could be anywhere between advanced “Oh my god, you made that!” designers, to complete newbies who are still in danger of removing an eyeball with the end of their needles!

You may be Madly passionate about self-development, but end up finding your niche in the Law of Attraction or EFT.

See what I mean?

So, has this set off any lightbulbs? Any aha moments?

Finding your niche is crucial to finding success in marketing or selling ~ I do hope this helped you find yours.

Bliss-ings,
the goddess known as Jacqui

PS “Finding your Niche” will be covered in much more detail in the Business Section of my upcoming Goddess Academy.

Aloha Goddess Jacqui,

I love your videos and your “to the point” blog posts. Thank you for clarifying the difference between “passion” and “niche”. I believe that once we start expressing ourselves with total “transparency” our passion and our niche start to reveal themselves.

I must say that blogging and being a part of a mastermind group who shares what they truly feel really helps to clarify what we are truly feeling.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with all of us!

Aloha,
Kellie 🙂

Aah goddess Kellie, you are such an inspiration to me *hugs*

And your words mean so much, especially since you’ve watched me from the very beginning of this epic adventure.

I am beyond grateful to have you in my life, scrumptious one, and being able to mastermind with you regularly is a gift indeed.

Very good points Goddess Jacqui……like so many things there is a fine line between niche and passion……

Goddess Nancy, to me, YOU are one that exemplifies passion and a superbly defined niche.

Your blog is the perfect example of a Passion made manifest, and those of us lucky enough to count you amongst our girlfriends are blessed indeed.

I’ll have my own story on your site soon … I promise!

I’m still wondering about this. I wonder if my blog needs to be more niche or whether it is already enough. I’d be interested in any feedback from anyone on this regarding my stuff!

Greetings, Sir Marty 🙂
I went to visit your blog before writing this reply ~ my, but you’ve got some great content and LOTS of it on there!

So I’m somewhat surprised at the lack of traffic and interaction which I can only assume is due to not being able to find you, rather than any niche-ing issues.

Joining a tribe, if you haven’t already, is a great way of increasing visitors, and having your share buttons and comment box a bit more visible would probably increase interaction. Let me know if you want to know more lol

Holly dear, you are growing in leaps and bounds!! Such fun to watch *hugs*

Just as an idea, you should chat to Tammy, who commented here too, and maybe do a guest post swop.
Motivation seems to be the theme of the day!

My niche is motivation. My passion is once people know they want to make a positive shift in their life and they finally understand how easy it is to make it possible and they light up and realize the shift in their mind – a small shift that they have control over – makes a HUGE impact in their lives. They can have bad times – we all do – but they don’t have to let those bad times control them any longer. They can look on the sunny side and know that they’re going to get through it and they might as well get through it with the happiness mindset.

I can help people get almost anything they want in life with small shifts in the way they percieve any situation they’re in and free them to LIVE THEIR LIVES!!

AND – I’m having a hard time figuring out where to find people that want this. I don’t know if they don’t know they need it — if you can help I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks Goddess!

Greetings, goddess Tammy

I can feel your passion through your words, and heaven knows we all could do with some added motivation.

I did a quick Google Keywords search for you, and it turns out that “Get Motivated” and “How to get motivated” are absolutely delicious keywords and ones that you could fairly easily dominate.

So my suggestion would be to write a couple of really content rich posts/articles with these two in the title, and start using them EVERYWHERE.
The traffic will follow soon.

Hope that helps,

Jacqui, I love your style! LOVE it!!

I love your knitting explanation. The passion I blog about is personal style, but my niche is plus-sized style for women who don’t feel beautiful in their clothes. However, about five minutes after I chose it, it felt restricting.

Is it okay to maybe lean in a niche direction, without targeting everything you write to that niche? I get claustrophobic at times!

Greetings, Jeanine, and welcome to goddess-world!

I honestly believe that your blog is YOUR HOUSE, and yes, one does need to know who you want to talk to (ie, the dreaded ‘target market’), but at the same time, if you write from your heart, you’re always be real and in true communication.

And the claustrophobia will disappear, pinkie swear!

Aloha Jacqui – Goddess, I so enjoyed your video clip and the social interaction you have with your co-workers. What a great topic to cover on, most of us still are figuring out what our niche is all about and you definitely made a bit more clear here. Very cool! Glad I came by and thanks for sharing! Wonderful Dear One!!
Yes, Yes, Yes…it’s all about the heart, and spirit. Once we discover what we can share with people with such love and sincerity that we can’t sleep, then it comes across in our content!! It FLOWS out of us like melted butter and honey right? We all have those things inside us that we just can’t live without talking about, reading about, and sharing. That’s our niche. If we try to steer in another direction..it shows!! I think I just helped myself with the assignment for the seminar coming up..once again my friend the Goddess provides a path for self discovery. The “angel” strikes again..

this is a really great post to follow your “passion” post from last week. (and i still love your pony!)

finding my passion really is too broad… which i’ve struggled to pin-point, and once i did, it still didn’t bring me tremendous traffic from like-minded people!

thanks for encouraging me to narrow it and *really* identify my target market (ugh, i cringe at the term too 😛 )… i think i’ll be doing a lot of that this weekend (wink wink)!

also, what a great dialogue you had above with tammy. we all got to learn from her inquiry (and your advice). i just googled “marathon moms” and i’m inspired!!!

thanks goddess 🙂

Hi Jacqueline,

I would like to commend you for a great video on your article. This is very informative. I totally agree that deciding the niche that you will be having on your business online is easy. Just follow your heart and do what you love. There should be the feeling of certainty on what you exactly want to impart online so you will not get bored to it soon.

I had the problem of having a passion that was in a niche flooded by competition. I am practicing developing online businesses with a friend until I am confident that I can at least stand up for myself against all that competition in the niche that I am passionate about.

It is very simple if you are not passionate about your niche it just wont work. Most will lose interest and yes wont be able to fight or stand against the competition in your niche. First find something your passionate about then do not be afraid to go full forward with your passion.

Finding the right niche for you may entail a lot of trial and errors. This is perfectly normal. Just like what finding your true passion is in life. Sometimes, we do tend to feel passionate about something, only to lead us to another passion. Keep on looking!
