One of the Top 50 MLM Blogs ~ who knew?

by on December 13, 2010

Well, bless my britches, as my ever-so-proper father would say, but this blog has managed to land at #46 of the Top 50 MLM Blogs.

Seriously! All formally announced and everything!

And truly, it’s all thanks to you scrumptious dahlings.

Because not only is this not a strictly MLM oriented blog, but (goddess confession alert!) I really didn’t do much to participate.

And here’s the somewhat awkward fact I learned about myself when these results came in…

I didn’t fully participate because I’d already decided I couldn’t win!

I decided a nanosecond after I heard of it, that the winner of a competition to crown The Top 50 MLM Blogs of 2010 would naturally Have to be an MLM oriented Blog!

Duh! Good morning, Captain Obvious!

So it was only at the nagging prompting of my darling friend Kimberly, that I even entered in the first place and casually mentioned it occasionally on FB.

And the gob-smackingly ironical twist to this tale?

Aforementioned darling friend Kimberly actually WON the competition, and … get this, dahlings, she doesn’t have an MLM oriented blog either!

So it got me to wondering …

How much better could I have done if I had truly gone for it?

How many other times have I not tried because I’d already decided I’d fail?

Not a pleasant subject to dwell on, but a very valuable lesson learned.

So has this ever happened to you, Dear Hearts?

Have you ever decided not to put any effort into something because you’ve made up your mind before even trying that you can’t achieve the end result?

And most importantly …

How do you Stop yourself from doing that?

Put on the kettle and let’s chat …

That’s what comment boxes are for!

Quite a wake-up call to get. I wonder if that was the purpose?

I do think everything has a purpose, don’t you?
And this one was indeed a wake up call to become aware of a thought pattern that definitely didn’t serve me.

Goddess Jacqui,
Congrats to you! I experienced similar thoughts about putting my name in and I also ended up in the Top 50! Did not see that coming. So glad to see Kimberly at the top, she certainly deserved it.

It was a great lesson in allowing negative thoughts to hold someone back when all it takes is an extra step or two to succeed. So glad you did join in the fun,
Val 🙂

And congrats to you too, goddess Val!

It was a great lesson, wasn’t it? I’ve been amazed to catch myself doing the same thing (thinking I’ve lost before I’ve even started) in all sorts of other areas and it’s been ever so delightful to watch the changes that this new awareness has led to.

Bliss-ings, and thanks for the visit, dear heart.

Congratulations Jacqueline and I am glad to see that Kimberly at just-ask-kim won, she is very influential and knows her stuff.

I think we all have that doubt in ourselves when we look at something that seems to be impossible.

However, it’s like you said, this is a lesson learned and I’m sure the next time you will be much higher on the MLM Blog rankings since now you know for certain you can do it. It’s always better to say I’m glad I did, instead of saying I wish I had.

Yes, you’re right, Jason. It is always better to have at least tried, and not have to look back with regret.

we’ve all heard some variations of the Ford saying, “whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re absolutely right!”

great job believing you can!

Good to see two of my favorite women, one actually winning, did so well in that contest. Imagine what may have happened if you actually tried?

You are so right Jacqueline in saying there are probably many lost opportunities because we let fear of failure hinder our progress. It may not even be failure itself but the fear of not doing as well as we would have liked. The thing is we never know what we could have achieved if we never tried. Well done for pointing it out.

It was rather a revelatory moment – and yes, it does smart a little to think that I could have done better with even a tad more effort.
However, a goddess never looks back and intends to use said lesson as impetus for a truly Gigantic-ly Awesome 2011.

Oh and Sire dear, you did notice the ‘subscribe to comments’ plugin is now installed, as per your prompting? Thank you for looking after me so sweetly *hugs*

You see even a lowly knight can come up with a good suggestion every once in awhile and look how quickly it brought me back to your wonderful bl0g.

As to the other matter, we all make mistakes but its those who learn from them who are able to grow and succeed.

Good job Jaqui!

And how cool to place without even trying – the fabulous thing is YOU know that this was not a fabricated or popularity skewed result. It happened organically and what could be better than that??

Good stuff!

You always manage to see the good side of things, Andrea!
Here I was, beating myself up about not trying and not even looking at the fact that it’s proof of what I’ve already built.
Thank you for the reality check, goddess!
So glad you came to visit.
