Why you SHOULD get your hopes up (sorry, Mom)

When I was little, my mom was very fond of saying things like “I know you want that, but don’t get your hopes up.”

I know it was because she loved me, because she wanted to protect me from the pain of disappointment and unrealized dreams.

But now I know ~ my mother was wrong.

Because when you have little dreams, even if you achieve them, you don’t amount to much.

Nobody creates anything Huge and Earth-shattering by having small thoughts. Wanting something that’s just outside of your current reality won’t stretch you very far – and more often than not, you won’t even bother to reach for it.

“If you know what to do to reach your goal, it’s not a big enough goal.” ~ Bob Proctor

So, against my mother’s wishes, I’m going to dream Big!

I’m creating Huge, Luscious Visions of Torrential Income Streams; World Wide name recognition and the kind of travel schedule that makes my passport look like a copy of War and Peace!

Because, as Les Brown says :-
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

When we stop dreaming, we stop reaching forward. When we stop reaching forward we stop living. Either get busy living or get busy dying! Dreams are what keep life worth living and yet so many have given up on their dreams and are essentially waiting to be buried!

I always dream big. Don’t care about what other people say, I just go for it. And I enjoy the journey as well. As what they say, it’s not all about the “goal” but the lessons, and fun you get to experience as you work towards your goal.

    Go for it, Goddess!

I had the fortune to attend a Bob Proctor seminar when I was only 17. He literally changed the direction of my life by passing on this incredible wisdom to always dream big. Thanks for this post.

Goddess you are so right! One can never have BIG enough dreams! The sad part is most dream way too small and have a hard time even feeling worthy of those. People need to stretch and dream crazy BIG! As you think, your reality will follow, so as I always say; “Dream BIGGER than you can imagine & Believe with all your heart!”

Thanks for sharing such wonderful insight and I hope it get everyone thinking about their dreams!

I love it! My mentor is fond of saying “Let’s create some big, hairy dreams”. LOL! I don’t know why they are “hairy”, but I get that he’s just saying to create some dreams that may even scare you a little! Oh! And my mom was also fond of saying “don’t get your hopes up”. What a way to live! I’m glad I snapped out of it. 😉
