Questions on the Fourth of July

Published: July 4, 2010 by Jacqueline Gates Filed Under: Goddess Mindset 3 Comments

It is appropriate that today’s post  should center around a quote from one of our Presidents ~

“You are not here to merely make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to Enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget that errand.” ~ Woodrow Wilson

So here are the questions :-

  • Are you enriching the world?
  • Are you doing something that makes your soul sing and your days too short?
  • Have you given up on mediocrity, on playing small, on”shrinking so that others don’t feel insecure around you?”
  • If not, why not?

If yes, welcome to my world, dahlings.

    Dear Goddess Jacqui,

What great questions to ask ourselves.
I have done it but there is even more that I can do to enrich the world and to enlighten it.
Your questions are a timely reminder of it.
    Thank you,
    Venus 🙂

    Aloha Jacqui,

I love your post!! Yes, yes & yes! Something told me to add one of my favorites:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE.
It is our LIGHT, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. YOUR PLAYING SMALL DOES NOT SERVE THE WORLD. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
WE ARE ALL MEANT TO SHINE, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; IT’S IN EVERYONE.
And as we LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
    –Marianne Williamson
    Nelson Mandela’s speech

Thank you Jacqui! And yes, I love your world!
    Aloha,
    Kellie 🙂

I adore that poem ~ And I was there when Mandela read it on inauguration day.
Thank you for reminding me of it’s power …
