Can You Be Spiritual and Serious? Woo and Professional?

Why I Trust My Own Reality (Even When the World Raises Eyebrows)

Picture this: I’m on stage, embodying a character who’s about to die. I glance into the audience and see tears streaming down faces.

Affirming, yes. But also, WTH?

I mean, this was theater. Make-believe. Scripted lines and painted sets.

And yet – the grief was real. The tears were genuine. Because in that moment, that story was truth.
Not logic-truth, but emotional-truth. Soul-truth.

This is the magic of the stage; the reality-shifting power of legit acting as if; the inevitable result of stepping into a fictional character’s shoes so fully that their truth becomes yours.

These days, I do the same with my Future Self. She is, after all, a role I can play right now. So I “rehearsed” being on a transatlantic cruise long before I stepped aboard. I knew how the deck would feel under my feet. I knew what I’d be wearing to the Captain’s Cocktail Party, even before I received the invitation (which came, eventually, on cruise number two).

So when someone questions my groundedness or professionalism as a coach/mentor because I talk about energy, intuition, or realities that don’t fit neatly into a quarterly spreadsheet, I don’t flinch.

I smile and think:
I’m not ungrounded. I’m just fluent in multiple realities.

Why This Matters in Your Life

If you’ve ever been the intuitive one in a boardroom… The incense-burning realist… The visionary who sees timelines other people can’t even fathom… or as one client put it, “I’ve got spreadsheets and spells -but only talk about one,”

You know the ache of being dismissed – not because you’re unqualified, but because your knowing doesn’t come with bullet points or bar graphs.

Western culture still worships logic, metrics, and “evidence-based” everything – while quietly scorning the kinds of truth that come through dreams, movement, or gut-level clarity.

We’re taught to “show our work.”
To make it make sense.
To translate our knowing into something they can quantify.

But what happens when your truth can’t be proven – only lived? Unfolded?

That kind of knowing doesn’t get applause. It gets a side-eye. And that tension? That constant split between honoring your own reality and trying to be legible to everyone else – OMG EXHAUSTING!

The Reframe – You’re Not Weird. You’re Wired Differently.

Here’s the thing:

You’re not unprofessional. You’re not “too woo.” And you’re certainly not delusional.

You’re just not operating by the same rules – because your compass isn’t calibrated to consensus.
And yes, sometimes that’s wildly inconvenient to the status quo.

That doesn’t make your work less credible. It makes your lens more needed.

We are in a cultural (and astrological) moment where the systems are failing, the old truths are crumbling, and people are hungry for meaning they can feel — not just measure.

And that’s where you come in.

The world doesn’t need more perfectly polished experts. It needs women like you and me – bridge-walkers who can hold both candle and calendar; who lead with pragmatism and planetary magic; who trust their Knowing – even when their audience isn’t ready for it.

You are not too much.
You are not too soft.
You’re also not alone.

Let’s Talk About “Professionalism”
(And Who TH Decided What That Means)

Let’s be honest. Most definitions of “professional” weren’t built with you/me/us in mind.

The system is masculine, mechanical, and performance-based. It’s all tailored suits, 9-to-5 rigidity, and emotional detachment.

Praise for what you produce – not for how deeply you perceive.

But what if your power comes from presence?
What if your most trustworthy data lives in your body, not your inbox?

What if your deepest clarity emerges during a walk in the woods, or during your morning tarot spread, or in that luxurious moment between sleep and waking?

Are you any less credible because your strategy starts with a prayer and a pot of tea?

HELL NO!

Darling, you’re redefining the field – not abandoning it.

You don’t need to translate your soul into something they understand…
You need to stop assuming their confusion means you’re wrong.

Or that their doubts are your responsibility to solve.

Let’s take a cue from Joan Crawford, shall we?
Back in 1952, when the roles for women “of a certain age” dried up,
she didn’t shrink … she produced. Literally.
She brought Sudden Fear to life herself – director, screenplay, cast – all handpicked.
She didn’t wait for permission.
She made the damn movie herself – and reminded Hollywood who she was.
That, darlink, is professionalism on her own terms and glamour as truth. )

(The Guardian)

When Doubt Creeps In (Because It Will)

Even when you know all this, the swirl still happens. One client said it best: “I feel like I have to translate everything to be taken seriously.” And I know you’ve felt that too. It’s all to easy to shrink, right?

So you water things down. You translate your truth into “coach or corporate speak.” You hesitate before saying what you really mean in a client session, or in your content, at the office or even with friends.

And every time you do it, a little part of you goes dim.

Here’s a gentle truth:

Their discomfort is not your cue to shape-shift.

Their eyebrow-raising isn’t a sign that you need to water yourself down.

It’s a sign that you’re doing something uncommon. And uncommon often looks unsafe to the uninitiated. That’s okay. You’re not here to be everyone’s cup of tea.

You’re here to be the exact cocktail someone’s soul has been thirsting for.

From Woo-Woo to Whoa – The Power of Owning Your Truth

Every world-changing idea started as something “crazy.”

Electricity. Airplanes. The internet.
And yes – even quantum physics, which basically says: reality is a suggestion.

They were all considered outlandish – until they weren’t.

Soooo …

What if your rituals, your altars, your oracle decks, your muttered spells and planetary timelines aren’t liabilities?

What if they’re your greatest assets?

Your next-level self isn’t hiding behind logic.

She’s designing her business from intuition and strategy. She’s anchoring her launches to the lunar cycle and her next cruise. She’s wearing colors that shift her frequency and ensembles that create results.

And she’s not asking for permission anymore.

Because she knows: what’s real isn’t always rational. And what’s rational isn’t always right.

Then there’s Dolores Hart.
Starlet. Elvis costar. Crowned the next Grace Kelly.
At the age of 24, after starring in films alongside legends
like Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando,
she simply … walked away.
Not for scandal, but for sanctuary, joining a Benedictine monastery.
No press tour. No memoir.
Just a deep, quiet yes to the life that called her.
Because sometimes trusting your inner knowing
means leaving the spotlight behind entirely.

A Thought to Sit With

What if your spiritual worldview wasn’t something you had to defend – but something you could lead from?

A few promptings to try on:

  • Where are you still pretzeling your truth into something more “acceptable”?
  • What sacred parts of your process are you hiding?
  • What might happen if you let your intuition be seen instead of protected?

Start Small, Start True

  • Own your words – Stop hiding your practices behind euphemisms.
If you pray, say so. If you script, say so.
  • Design your days with your soul in mind – Rest. Beauty. Ceremony. Rhythm. Start with as much or as little as your current obligations allow and build from there. It will expand, I promise.
  • Let people in. Whether it’s a coaching circle, community, or one trusted coach (Hello!!) – let yourself be fully seen in all your magic. It recalibrates your nervous system. Let yourself experience what it feels like to be received in full.

Cue Soft Exit Music …

Darling, you weren’t made to be readable to the masses. You were made to be unmistakable to the few who are ready for what you carry; radically recognizable to those who are meant to walk with you.

Because you’re tired of shrinking to fit. Because, like one woman said, “I want to live like the woman I see in my mind.” And so do they.

So, let your truth be strange.
Let your knowing be unprovable.
Let your presence be enough.

Let your reality be real – even-and-especially if they can’t see it yet.

They will.

And when they do, they’ll gasp: “You were right all along.”

And you’ll smile – because you already knew.

Bliss-ings,
